I noticed set pieces to make a castle (first picture). I also noticed the function of the thrones was to be sat on. On the second picture I notice lights with colored gels to make a blue oceany scene. I also noticed "kelp" at the top (being hung with a fly system) to show they're in an ocean, too.

So, in the first picture the set shows that they are in a castle because it has a throne room and the people sitting in the chairs are royalty because they are wearing crowns. Also in the second picture the backdrop shows that they are underwater because it is a mixture of blue and green.

The first picture looked like it took place in a set. The other picture looked like it was in a backdrop. The first picture looked like it was in a set because I could see individual walls present (I also know because I saw the play). The second picture looked like it took place in front of a backdrop because the only "set" piece was a humongous jewel, which could've been painted in the scene or part of Ursula. The costumes also looked very well thought out. The things that were supposed to be fish actually resembled fish, and the king and queen actually looked like royalty. Good job costume designs.

I noticed that there is a spotlight on Ariel to make your eyes focus on her, also to show that she is the main character. I also noticed that there is a backdrop that makes it look like there is a giant jelly fish behind her. I also noticed that she had a blue dress and red hair to show that she is Ariel, also to show that she is a mermaid.

I really like the blue background to make it look like the fish are underwater. Also in the other picture they made a platform so peoples eyes can be on the king and queen and I really like that. Also I like how they used blue colored gel on the stage lights to make it a true beautiful and true ocean sea.

In the first picture i saw a lot of props and costumes. Also i saw a set and not a back drop. I also noticed that they tried to make the the king and queen stand out so they put a platform so they the audience can see them. Also they tried to make the set look like a castle and it was brown with painted on bricks. Over all, i really think that the set and props all really read well.

I like how there were costumes for each character and how the used a blue backdrop. I think they used a blue backdrop to make it like a ocean and there were also sea shells in the blue backdrop. I think they put sea shells in the backdrop to make it as if there were sea shells in the ocean i also like how they used different set pieces like the rock and i think they made the rock 3D because so that the mermaid can use it and there were also projectors to make the blue backdrop more like water.

I noticed that the designer put a platform and they put flats on the the platform and big chairs. I think that the designer did that because he or she was showing them that the King and Queen were sitting in the throne room. I noticed that the crowns were costumes because the King and Queen were wear them on there heads to show they are the rulers of the kingdom.

I saw that the first set had kings chairs and queens chairs which means that the set was medieval time. There were also banners that hanged on a brick wall. The little mermaids backdrop was green and blue to make it seem like the backdrop was underwater.

I like how there was a very realistic-looking set pieces in pic 1 like the King and Queen's thrones. I think they were there so people would get the idea that the set was in a castle. Also, I think the designers used a flat designed to look like a stone wall so it would look like a castle. There was a platform in pic 1 so that the King and Queen looked important since they were elevated, meaning they were higher than everyone else in the set. In pic 2 the backdrop looked liked the ocean since the scene was supposed to be in the ocean. The set designers used different colored papers like blue and tan since the ocean is blue and the sand is tan. In pic 2, by the flytrack there was little bits of seaweed so people would also think it was an ocean.

I noticed in the first image that there is a wall and some chairs which means it's a set not a backdrop. I think the scenic designer did this because the actors had to interact with it. The scenic designer in the first picture made the walls very detailed. The second picture had a blue backdrop to show the actors were under water. The actors in all the pictures had an open posture.
