I grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago and have been involved in theatre since the 4th grade. Thus, I can attest to how formative a theatre education can be at a young age. I still remember my elementary school musicals with Mrs. Kirby! I was lucky enough to study under Tom Sweeney and Jill Bonavia at Homewood-Flossmoor High School, performing in a myriad of productions and winning IHSA All-State cast four years in a row.
I completed my undergrad education at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles with a BA in Theatre and and minor in Film. I earned my teaching certification as part of Northwestern's program with Inner-City Teaching Corps and earned my Master's in Education at Northwestern University as well.
This is my 10th year teaching drama at Middleton, but I have spent time as a classroom teacher as well. I taught 3rd grade, 4th grade, and kindergarten in Chicago and high school English in Saint Malo, France. I also taught theatre for youth in Los Angeles as part of the After Cool Program at the 24th Street Theatre.
I feel incredibly lucky to be teaching the blossoming actors of Middleton Elementary School!
