Check out the lighting design in these photos. What tools do you notice the lighting designer used? What do you think the designer is trying to show? Would you do anything differently? In the second photo there is a gel blue color for the scene because i could tell that they were trying to make the scene look really gloomy or sad. Also i noticed that they used a gobo with leaves or forest trees . I also noticed that the scene looked like they were in a cottage. I think that they ment to make the scene look like it was in a cottage because they probably thought that it would match more with the gel or the gobo. Over all, i liked how the scene really read well with all the details.

I noticed on picture #1 it has a gobo and gel to create that moon design I also noticed that the moon is not also shining on the girl so maybe the gobo & gel are may be behind the curtain. And for the 2nd picture it looks like the gobo and the gel are overlapping the woman so its maybe infront of a projector and on the 3rd picture it looks like they just added a gobo.

In picture 1 I see that they used a spotlight. I think they used a spotlight so the audience knows who to focus on. Another thing they used in picture 1 was a gobo because if you see closely you can see some stars on the backdrop so I think they want the audience to think they're on space. In picture 2 I see that they used a gobo because there's a tree I think they used that because they wanted it to look scary. In picture 2 I also see that they used a gel because they wanted it to probably look like night. In picture 3 you can see that there's a spotlight because they want you to focus on the main characters and not focus on anything else. Another thing they wanted the audience to have was some mood because they wanted it to be interesting so the audience wouldn't get bored.

I noticed that on picture 2 they used a gobo to show that it is in the forest and they showed leaves. And they used a blue gel to show that it is in the night. And they used a 3D set to show that they are on a ship.

In picture 1 it seems that the lighting was at night because I can see that there was a moon and there were stars. Also, they didn't use a gobo or gel.In the 2nd picture they used a gel to get a dark atmosphere because it seems that the characters are sad.In the 3rd one I think that they used a Gobo because on the edges it is totally black,I think they used a gobo to make sure it focuses on that one place.

In picture 1, I noticed a gobo that looked like the moon. I think the designers did this because the set was in the night under the moonlight. In picture 1, I also noticed the mood was dramatic and a bit frightening because it is dark but the actress in the middle looks very powerful since her costume is bright and powerful. The other actor's costumes are darker so they look less important. In picture 2, I noticed a blue gel. I think the designers did this because it would get the attention of the audience since everything else is dark and has no color in the set except the space the actor and actress are in is blue, adding color to the set. In picture 2, I also noticed a gobo that had vines and leaves. I think the designers did that because there is plants outside of the room the actor and actress is in so the gobo that had the plants would remind the audience about what was outside. In picture 3, I noticed that there were two spotlights pointing at the actors so people could see them. In picture 3, I think the set used a dimmer switch so nothing else could be seen in the set except the actors so the audience would focus on them.

In the first picture I notice that there is a gobo. I think they used the gobo to show the moon. They also used a followspot, to make the audience focus on the girl. In the second picture, they used put in a blue gel to make the mood sad and scary. In the third picture they used a followspot on the two playing tennis to make everyone's eyes go to them.

In picture two, I can see that they have put blue gels in front of a light and it made the setting blue. I think they did this because they wanted to show that the characters are scared. Also, they added a gobo to make the set look kind of creepy. The set is 3D and there are two scared looking people that look like a couple.

In pic 1 there was a gobo moon to make it look like it was night and there was a gel to make it look dark and creepy also they used a dimmer switch to make it dark or dim. In pic 2 they used a gobo of leaves to make it look like a tree is above them and a dimmer switch to make it look night and last they used a gel to make it blue because blue is an night color. In color 3 it was really colorful and they used a gel to make it look like they are playing tennis.

I am doing picture number 1. I noticed they used the spotlight to show the 2 kids playing tennis. The line is the middle i think is the net. I also think the audience liked this because it showed them playing tennis and spotlights showed the people playing tennis.

I would use a regular white light, not blue.

In picture three there is a followspot on the characters. Then I think their is a dimmer switch so one part of the stage is lit.
