SHOW WEEKEND DETAILS
We would also like to provide more details for families as audience members about how our shows work:
TICKETS & SEATING
DURING & AFTER THE SHOW -
* NO parents, siblings or friends should be backstage, in the choir room, in the cafeteria, or in the halls past the marked areas unless they are volunteering for the show. All cast and crew members will meet you in the audience as soon as they finish their tasks. Please be patient and wait for your student in the audience. Thank you.
* NO RECORDING of any type is allowed. The shows will be professionally recorded on Saturday evening for our livestream. The link will remain available to watch again after our show weekend.
* NO flash photography is allowed during the performance. We will be posting photos from our dress rehearsal and student performances. Families will be allowed to take a quick photo with their student in costume after the show in the audience, but students must return to the costume areas immediately following to return all of their costume items.
TICKETS & SEATING
- TICKETS will NOT be sold at the door. All tickets must be ordered in advance using the following link: https://www.vancoevents.com/us/CJZJ. You will get a digital ticket emailed to you as confirmation of your purchase. If you do not get a confirmation email, your purchase did not go through.
- ARRIVAL TIMING - Expect to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the performance time. Front doors to the school will open 30 minutes prior to the performance time, and doors to the house will open 15 minutes prior to performance time. There is typically a line formed in the lobby early for those families who are concerned about particular seating arrangements. Please wait for the ushers to invite you into the gym to be seated.
- SEATING - Seating is first-come, first-serve. We do not assign seats and do not allow saved seating via jackets or signs at our performances. Please know that your items will be removed by staff or crew members should you leave them unattended on chairs. We understand that families might be coming from far away to see their students perform. We also understand that many parents are volunteering to help during the show, which makes it difficult to wait in line to enter. Please keep in mind that this is the case for many if not most of our families, which make up the majority of our audience. If you are concerned about your seating, plan to send a family member earlier to line up.
- AVAILABILITY - The Middleton musical is a community tradition, and many families who don't have a student in the show come to see the show. Last year, all three of our shows sold out rather quickly. In an effort to prioritize the families of our cast & crew, we gave out the ticket link to cast and crew before distributing it to the community.

OLD NEWS & HANDOUTS
NOTE: The above "JGP Jr. Participation Info Packet" is a reference for all important dates and general show information. Please note that links to online enrollment forms are not live on the PDF as these are only distributed via email to those families who attended the informational meeting or were involved in the show the previous year. Please reach out to the directors if you did not receive these links by email.
Roles in the show are determined by the directors after watching auditions. Students had the opportunity to tell us at workshops which roles they are most interested in.
- CASTING - Our casting for each role is based on who has the best singing, acting, and dancing for the part. We will give students more information at workshops about the age, gender, and personality of the characters in the show, but we do not cast our show based on the age, gender, personality, or looks of our students. That is what acting is for!
Please email both of our emails when you send us messages ([email protected], [email protected]). We switch off who is responding to emails throughout the year, so typically only one of us will reply.
The show this year will be "James and the Giant Peach Jr.", and the show will be held on Friday, April 19th & Saturday, April 20th, 2020 at McCracken Middle School.
Feel free to direct any musical questions or concerns to both Mrs. Anderson ([email protected]) AND Ms. Sylvester ([email protected]).
